Dear Pet Owner:

As part of our continuing effort to provide the best care for your pet, we would like to make you aware of a
change in our vaccination program.  Historically, our canine patients were vaccinated against distemper,
adenovirus (hepatitis) and parvovirus on an annual basis.  Recent improvements in the vaccine are now
allowing us to vaccinate against these diseases with just one injection every three years.

In recent years, there has been growing concern about over-vaccination of pets.  The American Animal
Hospital Association and major universities have recommended vaccinating every 3 years for certain dog
diseases, including distemper, adenovirus, and parvovirus.  With Continuum® DAP, we can follow these
recommendations with a US government-approved product—and giving only one injection every 3 years
may mean greater comfort and safety for your dog. Continuum® DAP, has been approved by the United
States Department of Agriculture (the US government agency that regulates animal vaccines) for 3-year
protection and has an excellent safety record.

Please note that although your dog will now only receive this vaccine every 3 years, your pets still will need
to have checkups annually.  This vaccine is only one part of your dog’s overall care and regularly
scheduled visits are necessary to maintain your dog’s health. You may also learn more about this new
product by visiting

We look forward to seeing you and your pets on your next visit.  Please do not hesitate to contact our office
if you have any questions about our new protocol.

Sincerely,

The Doctors and Staff
