Dr. Wendi Tumminello is a native of Huntsville. After working as an assistant for Dr. McManus at Valley Animal Hospital for several years, she decided she wanted to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with a BS in Biology from Emory University in 1997 and received her Doctorate of Veterinary medicine from Auburn University in 2001.

After graduation, Dr. Wendi moved to the New Orleans area and pursued an internship in small animal internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine at the Louisiana Veterinary Referral and Emergency Clinic. Following the internship, Dr. Wendi stayed on at LaVRC and worked as an Emergency Veterinarian and manager of the Emergency Clinic for 8 years. She loved the fast-paced environment and helping patients overcome life threatening injuries and diseases.

In 2010, after having her second little boy, Dr. Tumminello and her husband moved back to Huntsville to raise their family.  Dr. Wendi has been working part-time at Valley Animal Hospital since the fall of 2010.   Her veterinary interests include emergency medicine, internal medicine, ultrasound, and geriatric care.

She shares her home with husband, Marc; her two boys—Luke and Titus; her sweet daughter Scarlett; and her Golden Retriever, Tulip.

In January 2021 Dr. Wendi came on full-time as our new Co-MDVM to help Valley Animal Hospital in our continued growth.
